The School of Labor and Human Resources, founded in 1983, is a leading institution in the field of labor research and education in China. Its disciplines were all ranked as "A+" in the fourth round of national discipline evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education. The school has played a significant role in establishing the foundation for labor-related studies in China and has actively promoted the practice of effective human resource management since China's economic reform.

School of Ecology & Environment at Renmin University of China The School of Ecology & Environment at Renmin University of China (RUC) was established in April 2024, formerly known as the School of Environment & Natural Resources founded in November 2001. The establishment of the School of Ecology & Environment is in alignment with RUC's commitment to implementing significant directives outlined by General Secretary XI Jinping during his visits and research inspections. It also signifies RUC's dedication to advancing strategic reforms within the environmental sciences. Building upon the foundation of the former School of Environment & Natural Resources, the School of Ecology & Environment has evolved into a comprehensive institution for ecological and environmental education and research, covering the fields of Ecological and Environmental Economics, Sustainable Development Management, and Ecology. It serves as a crucial hub for nurturing talents in environmental economics in China, and emphasizing interdisciplinary integration, reflecting RUC's advantage in social sciences.

The School of Finance, as one of the founding schools of Renmin University of China (“SFRUC”)，has long been leading the development of China’s Finance and Public Finance disciplines. Since the Ministry of Education of China initiated the first-level discipline evaluation in 2004, applied economics with SFRUC’s finance and public finance disciplines as the backbone has consecutively been ranked No.1(A+). SFRUC is devoted to cultivate top-notch innovative and international talents in finance and public finance with a global vision. With a strong academic research atmosphere, we have published more than 100 academic papers in top international journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Financial Economics, and etc.

The School of Economics of Renmin University of China is recognized throughout the country for pioneering the advancement and development of economic discipline. The School of was founded in 1998, and its earliest history can be traced back to the Political Economy Research Office set up in the North-China United University, the predecessor of RUC,in 1939. In the assessment on teaching and research quality conducted by the Ministry of Education, the school was ranked as the top one in the field of economics consecutively and has been selected into the list of two rounds of "Double First-Class" discipline construction. With an invaluable faculty body, School of Economics has always been an important base for economic teaching and research in the country and has provided a large number of excellent talents for government agencies, international and domestic universities, and global top enterprises.

School of Applied Economics (SAE) is founded in 2019. The history of the SAE could be traced back to 1950, when the newly-formed RUC set-up the Department of Economic Planning and Research Division of Economic Geography. Since the early days of the People’s Republic, RUC has thus been an important national center for teaching and research of applied economics. In turn, RUC has subsequently earned a strong reputation in applied economics as assessments conducted by the Chinese Ministry of Education (2004, 2008, and 2012 ) consistently ranked the university top in the teaching and research of applied economics across the country. The SAE currently has a diverse group of 54 faculty members, where over half are internationals and many more are thought leaders in their respective areas. The research focus areas of SAE are largely spread across socially- and economically-relevant topics such as energy market and policy, climate change, regional economics, poverty reduction, and input-output analysis . Following her predecessors, the SAE aims to continue providing important and timely research in applied economics, and train future generations of policy-makers.

National Academy of Development and Strategy is a new type of university think tank with Chinese characteristics. In 2015, it was selected as one of the first pilot units for the construction of "national high-end think tanks" and ranked among the top 100 global think tanks. "In 2019, it was selected as one of the first-ranked think tanks in the comprehensive assessment of national high-end think tanks, marking the only university think tank selected into the first-ranked echelon.
